Delivering Higher Quality Health Care to Oregonians

With family health care costs expected to double in the next decade, our research helped build the case for reforms at the state and federal level. Now, OSPIRG Foundation staff are hard at work ensuring that health care reform delivers lower costs and higher quality care to consumers and small businesses.

Expanding Public Transportation

OSPIRG Foundation released a series of reports that outlined the benefits of clean, efficient public transportation and generated media attention around the issue. Staff are also working with business leaders, lawmakers, transportation officials, and other advocacy groups to help craft a statewide plan to invest in more fast trains and buses.

Road Work Ahead: Holding Government Accountable for Fixing America’s Crumbling Roads and Bridges 4/28/2010

For decades, political pressure has often led to policies and projects that favor new highway expansion while neglecting existing infrastructure in serious need of repair. We need stronger “fix-it-first” policies that prioritize repair and maintenance of our existing roads and bridges rather than spending on needless and wasteful new highway capacity.

Prior to joining the OSPIRG Foundation,  Dave worked as the Student PIRGs’ National Program Director, working with the students and staff of chapters around the country to develop and execute effective, cutting-edge, student-led social change campaigns around a variety of public interest issues.
