Background

Amina Fazlullah is a Media Reform Advocate and staff attorney with OSPIRG specializing in media, technology and digital consumer rights. Based in the Washington, D.C. office of U.S. PIRG, the Federation of State PIRGs, she works on the organization's efforts to advance media reform goals to ensure diversity of viewpoints, protect localism, and prevent the monopolization of the country’s media outlets. Ms. Fazlullah also monitors the FCC, FTC and DOJ Antitrust with respect to the telecommunications industry, and is currently engaged in legislative efforts to include Net Neutrality protections.

She received her J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School and a B.A. (Telecommunications) from the Pennsylvania State University. During her last year of law school she served as an extern with the Honorable Chief Judge James M. Rosenbaum of the United States District Court of Minnesota.  She also has experience working as a law clerk at the Federal Communications Commission’s Office of Strategic Planning and Policy Analysis, the Equal Employment Commission’s Office of Legal Counsel and at the Electronic Privacy Information Center. Prior to law school, she worked in California where she held several tech, film and media related jobs and also worked as a client advocate with the Bar Association of San Francisco’s Volunteer Legal Services Program.
